Financial Aid

Federal, state, foundation, and institutional aid can help minimize the cost of your college education. All students are encouraged to apply.

Over 75% of TCLA students receive some form of financial aid, through scholarship opportunities, Cal Grants, Work Study, or outside sourcesIn some cases, students may qualify for enough aid to attend TCLA tuition free.

All students must complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to apply for federal, state, and Touro aid. California residents may apply for a Cal Grant (which requires an additional form as well as the FAFSA). In addition to federal and state aid, we encourage you to look into what external scholarships are available, such as through Jewish Vocational Service of Los Angeles and Jewish Free Loan Association. Two other good resources for external scholarships, are Fastweb and the College Board Scholarship Search.

All students who apply for financial aid will be automatically considered for Touro grants and scholarships, which include both merit and need-based awards.

Financial Aid Refund

If the federal and state aid you receive exceeds your tuition and administrative fees, the Bursar will return the excess to you to use toward other college-related expenses – this is commonly referred to as a “refund.”

The Registrar and the Bursar work together to confirm student enrollment, satisfactory attendance, and academic progress before issuing any refunds.
